I'm running a Ryzen 7 2700x as well, but with a GTX 1070 and settings at max and haven't even had a crash, let alone a forced shut down.
That's hella crazy to hear. Can you try underclocking your GPU so that it's within normal clock speeds instead of OC clock speeds? Can you check Event Viewer (Windows Key > Search Event Viewer > Windows > Application Logs > See if there's anything with a red error icon? Have you made sure that Windows is updated, drivers are updated. Does this only happen with Biomutant?
if this is the case why is this the only game it's doing it to, the only software really... I'm certain Cyberpunk 2077 is much more taxing than this game
yeah, cuz i need to replace a 1 year old ryzen 7 2700x and a 2 month old 3080... come on dude, and again if this was the case this wouldn't be the only software causing this.
again, as i've said to every other comment on here... this is the only software it happens on... cpu & gpu... 66 degrees while the software is running... and if my 650 watt psu has issues with this then why doesn't it have issues with cyberpunk 2077, escape from tarkov, fl studio, i can even stream and play warzone with max settings, ray tracing, and dlss...
only biomutant, windows up to date, drivers up to date, turned the nvidia in game overlay off, turned the steam in game overlay off, verified files, played in windowed mode...
i have a bunch of red error messages from when i was playing last night, gonna copy n paste em...

i could keep going, these are ALL from my very infuriating session last night.
Wow. Can you post %localappdata%, go to CrashDumps folder and see if there's anything related to Biomutant there?
If not, can you check Biomutant/Saved/Crashes and see if you have folders there?
If any of those show any of the files I asked, I will need you to contact me thru Discord @ Axas#7680
so, i just crashed again... looked in event viewer and there was nothing, but when i looked at everything from early this morning, all those red error messages was from bonjour services... i have a windows pc not a mac and i googled it and bonjour services is something by apple or for itunes or some spit. but all the red errors from bonjour services is from the exact time my crashes were happening... why is this even on my desktop? i never put it there.
If it is in certain parts of your playing the game, then go to your C:/Users/(name of first Profile)/AppData/Local/ and copy the Biomutant folder over to your %localappdata% folder in this new profile.
Aiox, now the only way to tell if it truly did work is over time, but typically after i crash it's on a loop, every 5-10 minutes crashing... i uninstalled bonjour services, i'm thinking that was the issue... played 30 minutes with no crash and it seems to run more fluid as well. i hopped off to give you this update. going to hop back on for a few hours and when i'm done or if it crashes again i will update again. thank YOU Aiox for actually sticking with me through this and not suggesting i dig into my wallet... there is absolutely no need for that since every component in this pc is less than 13 months old.
Glad to hear that worked for you. Weird that you would have that to begin with. Oh well. Glhf. Weird that only Biomutant got affected by it vs all the other things in your computer.
Glad you got it fixed, but could have done without the blanket snide comment to others giving feedback that you asked for. Enjoy the game!
