I experienced bad performance early in the game when I was in an area with lots of buildings and my torch was on. like 40 fps

I know that many of us struggle with permanent stuttering and fps drops. I play on laptop (quite highend but still laptop), so I could understand issues, but there are gamers playing on 3090ti desktops, who can't play this game smoothly. I have tried literally everything but eventually I think I found the solution. Stuttering for me has been solved by increasing manually size of Virtual Memory in my Windows 11. I have 16GB RAM. I set Initial size to 6144MB and Maximum size to 18432MB. Restarted PC and now game runs smoothly :)

hmm ive got 32gb ram. I undervolted my gpu yesterday and tried last night and it seemed to run a better. still not as good as it should for what it is but thats modern gaming now.

I think you can increase virtual memory even more if you have 32GB RAM, but I'm happy those values also did any improvement. I think CPU is more of a problem than GPU. Some guy or reddit has 3090ti and also stutters (% usage is like 50-60), so I guess graphic card is irrelevant.

Maybe you guys just run the wrong settings or drivers. I have about 90fps with a RTX2080 on a AMD 5 3600 with maximum settings.

If you are able to use Freesync this will help. I turned gsync on and it smoothed out the graphics a lot.

Make sure shadows are medium, dial back anti aliasing as much as you can, dial back world draw distance.

sounds like virtual memory issue. Game tends to thrash my old spinner hd in area with lost of buildings. I increased VM and now it does not. seems to be having windows automatically manage VM cant handle it. I have 32GB rm and play on medium as i only have a 1050 so no lag at all.
