Can't remember how to not lose balance while crossing a rope. Keep dying in sludge.

When you start to loose balance jump, you will land on rope balanced again and can continue across.

Mm, must have done it wrong, I'd jump and just wind up in the muck.

If your character is tipping to the right, pull your analog to the left or A button on PC and vice versa.

Just jump. But jump carefully. Looking down works best for balance it seems.

Got it, thanks all. Just had a problem remembering how I did it hous before, and dealing with clumsy-thumb on the sticks. Still getting used to using a gamepad instead of mouse and keyboard after three decades. :)
