Mercenary Class
Exclusive for pre-order?
Which weapons/perks does it contain?
I imagine there's some info on the DLC before purchasing

The Xbox text explains this a lot better, it is a loadout, nothing more nothing less, it just lets you start looking as a samurai :)

i'd imagine this dlc is like early access to the class, whether they sell it later or have it as an unlock once you play a bit of the game. some of the death stranding suits were like that. I have a hard time believing that a complete and unique class would be restricted for ever just to be used as an incentive for pre order. this is THQ nordic not EA

Since they are ready by the time the game is released, it's painfully obvious they were removed form the main game to be sold separately.
It's not ilegal, but morally bankrupt.
i dont see it at an immoral practice, many companies have done it in the past, especially since more and more games are being released more via digital copies.

They will prolly allow it as a DLC later on for a price tag, which means you have the option to get a free DLC for showing support via preorder.

Guys...its JUST a pre order bonus...youre not paying extra money for dlc they cut out to resell you. No price tag attached to this...just...pre order...thats it. The hell 0,o

A practice being done by other companies isn't exactly an excuse for them to do it as well. But, as others pointed out, the dlc is just an early unlock and you can get it in-game.

It's "less awful" this way.

Just because its always been done, doesn't make it any less ♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a practice. Day 1 DLC is content that the developers CUT off the main game and then charge you for it. It doesn't matter that it will be available later or, that its a load out ect. The sheer fact that the Developers or the publisher is removing content from the game so they can milk you for more money is deplorable.

I out right boycotted ME3 over crap like this... and i'll do it again for this game if i must. Frankly its the only way developers will ever learn... and the fact SO many seem fine with it just shows how, devs have conditioned players to accept anti-consumer practices.

So no it's not ok, you want my money? make actual DLC, with actual content after the fact. Give us a REAL expansion like the old days... and i'll happily pay for it. But this Merc DLC? is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke and an insult to consumers.

As much as I agree with your sentiment here, in this case, the mercenary class they offer is just an early unlock. You can get it just by playing the game (but it'll take an undisclosed amount of time. But I'll agree it's still ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if they took the approach of Battlefront II from EA here.

After they took the piss out of us all those years with delay after delay, they now have the cheek to lock sth behind a DLC at release. I find this quite dangerous on top, bcs in the meantime there was already another brilliant Zelda-Clone with Immortals Fenyx Rising. People might be too pissed by this cheek of THQ and now say "screw this game". THQ should not forget we are their customers and cherish this fact, not kick our asses for waiting THAT long.

Why do people continue to reference this "release day DLC?"
Pay attention...its not a launch day paid DLC.

I don't think you can say that for a fact. If they develop something from the start along side the game always planning for it to be DLC, that doesn't make it cut out from the game just because it was released at the same time.

Because if you don't preorder you can still get it later as DLC
This pre-order DLC non-sense (as well as a couple other things) has convinced me not to buy this game.

omg....bwahahaha...its not day 1 DLC ffs. Do you see a price tag attached to it? Is it a selectable seperate DLC event? No. Again...not that anyone is listening...but this is not day 1 dlc, nor even a paid dlc module. I mean, freedom to chose by all means, probably your loss.
