All of them.
Wide sweeping AoE attacks force you to use guns.
Super Wung Fu can end skirmishes in a few seconds shown below:

Boss fights make up 1-5% of game play though in my experience.
The game is filled with enemies that punish you for trying to melee them yet they're pretty much defenceless if you kite them with guns. Thus melee is definitely playing the game on challenge mode. However, the latest patch made melee much more useable by adding QoL changes to it and personally I find the game too easy even on Extreme difficulty, and as a Soulsborne veteran, I crave the extra challenge. I'm thoroughly enjoying melee-only.
But yeah, range is easy mode and melee is challenge mode. Which I find entertaining.
Im playing a melee only build and do not have this problem
only most of the world eaters are ranged only. with 1 exception.
most mini bosses and big creatures can be stunned with the fist so you can hop on their face and smack them.
Dodging and using wung fu abilities helps a lot, and going into super wung fu and ground pounding kills them even quicker.
If you use the contagion gun in that video I am showcasing you can actually hit "immune" armored mobs with the missile every couple of shots.
Ah cool. That's an awesome tip. Thank you :)
all they need to do was legitimately this - > Add a sound effect to the bonk when the weapon hits and maybe make the enemies get staggered a lil
like its ...seriously not hard simply add a better sound effect thats what makes the zing in these games
but no its not there so I just use guns and avoid melee and ended up finding a gun that can burn through all of the enemies so eh
Mercenary is a fine choice and it won't stop you from using guns when you want to.
Also, if you aren't opposed to mixing in some Bio/Psi abilities with your melee. it can really help, especially against big groups, to have some crowd control. I rarely see people mention Moth Mouth, but it is a great ability for distracting groups of enemies.
i completed the entire game with Melee only, and had no issues.
Don't you realize that you are spewing the dumbest fanboy arguments possible wherever you post here?
The melee combat is very similar. That's obviously what I was referring to. Especially after animation cancelling was added in 1.5. Especially the more agile, faster-paced combat of Bloodborne.
