Looks like you stumble on some issues.
So first, sorry for that, we're never happy when one of our players have a bad experience with one of our games.
Second, as you talk about engines, the game uses a homemade engine written in java and it could run on a low spec pc without troubles. It's not perfect, for sure, I wrote it ... but we have thousands of player able to enjoy the game without any trouble.
Also, this game uses the same engine as The Count Lucanor, so it should work the same way.
However, game dev on PC is tricky, even more when you also want to bring the game to mac and Linux. You have to deal with the incredible amount of software and hardware that exists out there. And sometimes, things don't work out.
So, you have some technical problems :
- Sound issue : maybe OpenAL was not detected as expected on your machine. When it happens, the engine uses a fallback implementation that is very limited.
- Key Wizard : we will prevent the possibility to bind Esc. Thanks for pointing that out. In the meantime, you can go in the game folder/res/settings and delete the settings.properties to reset everything
- BSOD : not sure why it could happen but there's an incompatibility with Discord streaming system that leads to filling the computer ram very fast when alt-tabbing. Maybe it's what happened for you. We're working on it.
- FPS Drop : not sure why this could happen, we'd need more info on that.
You can join our discord server and directly get help there, from me, in DM.
Best regards.
Sorry about my jabbering.
I will reset settings and try again.
Thanks for clarifying about game engine. I adore people writing engines from scratch, but too many times it's a total mess (in terms of other games, not this one)
In terms of this game I think it was just too many accidents for me and the unstoppable desire to play it :D
I think my mistake was me buying the game for PC. I use Windows 10 bootcamp on my macbook, so there can be some problems...
I completed Count Lucanor on my Nintendo Switch, so I think I better buy the game for Switch actually and not face my kinda mac-ish windows problems :)
Thanks for the help
