The game engine is a 100% homemade java engine.
If you want more technical details , I can happily provide them :)
It would be nice to read some tech blogs or kind of. Btw, thanks for the game! Just finished it without any type of lags, bugs, etc. Definitely one of my fav games. Good work!
Anyway, I'll be glad to have a talk about that, but it'd rather be a loose discussion on Discord than anything else :)
Holy Crap! Sorry to necro an old post but this is just so dang impressive! You rarely hear about proprietary engines anymore especially in indie spaces, and it runs SO WELL to boot!
10/10 game, with massive DLC update, in a bespoke handmade engine, you are truly an inspiration.
What engines would you recommend if I hypothetically want to try to create something similar to Yuppie Psycho? I really like the visuals in the game. As far as I know, this cannot be achieved in RPG Maker.
I'd say you could achieve 70% of what YP looks like in RPG Maker. And rather quickly.
Our engine is homemade and I would strongly discourage people from doing that nowadays.
If I ever had to recode everything from scratch, using an engine, that'd definitely be with Godot.
