Uncontrollably skipping to next checkpoint every time I pause.

See above - maybe I'm missing something, but if I ever pause the game, no matter what button I hit, it skips me to the next checkpoint. I've had to replay two levels to get missing dots because I accidentally paused and couldn't get out of the menu without warping ahead.

(also, I got around it when I learned you can manually skip forwards/backwards with F1/F2)
