Can you play online multiplayer?

My dad would like to be able to play this game online with me, but it does not seem possible. Is i it possible to do Shotgun Legend multiplayer or will there ever be an update for one?

The game itself is local co-op only. I would like to tell you that you can do it with Steam's remote play together, but from what I've seen it's currently in the same boat as Google Stadia, which is almost unplayable with a very high end computer and bandwidth.
