Cup Game gambling?

This is a great idea, my question is is it fully functional. I can't seem to get it to work.

You have to have at least 10 money and it currently respawns once every 60 seconds you stay away from the room, but I've considered making it much shorter.

I spent most of my money and it fixed it. I'm going to try to duplicate the problem

It won't let you do it if you have 999 currently, but I should probably change that. Also I did just notice one of the cups was giving 10 more than it was supposed to.

I have wondered why this was in the game. I see no downside or upside to it. Is something like this in the original Zelda?

Yeah. It's pretty much just there as a nod to something very similar in the original Zelda. In fact, it's hidden in almost the same place on the map.
