Map Setting "AI Development" also affects tribes?
Can anyone confirm that the map setting "AI Development" not only affects the enemy-nations but also the tribe-spawn? If i select "None" almost no tribes are available in a game.

To an extent, but not in the way that you think. Tribal sites are allocated after nation sites. So if you have AI Development at Massive, any sites that get allocated to the AIs are not going to be available for Tribes. Even with no AI Development, all nations are guaranteed 3 non tribal sites.

A common reason for not seeing any Tribes in game is changing the City Site Density setting. Anything lower than High, which is the default, results in less sites on the map, which means that after national sites are allocated, there may not be any left over for Tribes. The same effect will also occur if you set the Number of Opponents to a higher than default level for the map size.

So the combination between AI Development = None and Density = Low made sure my maps didn't have any or very few tribes. Thank you for explaining.
