I don't know why you are getting this error on loading your saves, which are presumably single player and not Play by Cloud. Please may you email a save file you are having trouble with and the Old World log file to support@mohawkgames.com and we can investigate further. The save files are by default located in C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\OldWorld\Saves and the log files in C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\OldWorld\Logs
Adding an exception to your AV for Old World should resolve this.
I'll add the AV exception but I hadn't gotten that specific error message yet. Couldn't hurt to try though.
I loved Old World before the updates and I've been really looking forward to the new stuff so I'll keep trying.
Mine in particular is AVAST and I added the OldWorld.exe to the App Permissions and I also added the entire folder from steam library into the Excpetions, I thought that should have covered everything I could do with AVAST.
It changed nothing and I thought it was still something else, but then I remembered AVAST has had some problem with creating exceptions before. I can't remember with what but I do remember it being an issue, so I turned AVAST shields off entirely for a short session and the problem seemed to go away!
I'll do a day of playing and saving and closing the game entirely to see if everything works again. Assuming that was the problem hopefully you won't hear more problems from me. I also submitted a couple bug reports around the same time of the creation of this post just FYI.
I will come back and let you know if the problem comes back with AVAST turned off. Any suggestions on adding it as an exception in a way I didn't know to do would help, I am no expert on the subject.
TLDR;
It was my AV (AVAST) and it seems to be fixed for now. Thank you again
