Time period
Good tidings everyone,

Firstly the game looks exciting and very promising! I wanted to ask during which timeframe in history the game is set? I read a bit about the game on the store page but couldn't find a definite time frame (completely possible I missed it in which case I apologise).

Also apologies if this question has been asked before. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

God bless,
Otsirk

So it makes sense, that i.e. the Islam isn't available as a selectable religion.

Think of it as the Rise of Bronze Age Empires (circa 2500BC Egypt Old Kingdom / Akkadian Empire) to the Fall of the Western Roman Empire (circa 450AD).

True, and Xbows seem to be somewhat before their time also, are they not?

The "pike" in the game is based on the ancient Macedonian sarissa, which Alexander the Great used during his wars. It's also recorded in Roman histories that in the 2nd Century AD Germanic tribes used "over-long spears", in essence a pike. Julius Caesar also noted in his personal records the Helvetii using long spears jutting over shield walls.

As for crossbows, they were being used in China from the decline in the Zhou dynasty (from around 7th century BC), and used all over China (and surrounds) during the warring states period (which ended in the 2nd century BC).

the concepts might be old, but the artworks and 3d models in the game are completly off. the skin and artwork of the pikemen is a typical pikeman from the late 16th and and up to 18th century. and there are many more 3d models and artworks of the units which don't make sense at all.
