looks like Sony still had issues .
guess it is up to Magix to figure something out .
the only other big authoring tool is Encore ,
part of cs6 , rent it .
DVDA really does have a minimal yet very
effective interface .
i hope the hardware decks don't have any
firmware\software bugs .
i assume it plays ok in the PC BD deck ,
with Cyberlink sofrtware .
Your maintence request is a really tough challange .
Who's got the issue ? hardware decks or
software authoring ? i suppose all Hollywood
BD movies play just fine in all of your decks .
does kinda look like DVDA could have an issue .
i recently read about a patch note on
DVDA 6 or 7 , that some
BD playback bug was fixed . hmmmm
have you tried a test with RW media ?
they always say burn first wtih RW
to verify disk operation . if it works , then
burn ROM disk .
i know DVD +- disks can act differently .
usually -DVD is the best for menu movie disks .
not sure about BD . Verbatim seems to be the best
brand right now . or maybe Sony BD .
I've been making video disk projects since computer DVD writers were $200, with media costs to match. Rewriteable media is the ONLY way to go until you know it's perfect, even though it's sooo slow to write. Looked at the Adobe "creative cloud" and decided I'm not that desparate. The menus are only a means to the end. It's just that when you give discs away, or make projects for friends, you don't want the recipients to have to deal with this kind of crap.
i really thought DVDA had it's it together .
been around since at least DVDA 3.0
and blu-ray has been on the table since ,
i think , version 4.0
oooh , shared disks could flop out on someones deck ,,..not good .
i'm gonna guess , using the software remote control screen in DVDA ,
all menu navigation and chapter points work just fine .
i hann't done much disking with DVDA yet . not happy to hear your experience .
i don't have an external hardware BD deck . just the PC LG BD deck .
( it had 1 firmware update , so not all hardware is perfect )
just my note :
i always render out of any Vegas\Movie Studio Platinum software as :
DVD compliant , or BD compliant video\audio.
.avc video with Dolby .ac3 audio , or as a single .m2ts ( Sony AVC\MVC codec )
or for DVD as .m2v video with Dolby .ac3 audio ( mainConcept mpeg-2 codec )
i never let DVDA render anything .
loosing chapter makers with BD ? Sony\SF should have been knee deep
into the BD standard . too much cheese in Wisconsin ,...blame it on the cheese .
the above is a Patch note from Steam Store Page , DVDA 7.00.67 update .
