Issues with Getting DLC to Appear for Samurai Warriors on PS4

I know this isn't the right place, but this is the most active board for me to ask this question on, especially since I downloaded the PS4 version of SW4 because of a message on this website.


Whenever I try to get DLC for SW4 on the PS4, it keeps on saying something like "this isn't currently available", even though the game has been out for years! I even went to the store page on PS Store page add-ons, but even then only costumes and extra horse DLC appear and none of the extra stages, weapons or the like appear at all! The only way I could manage to buy extra weapons DLC 1 and 2 is by searching for the game manually and even then they only listed it and one of the extra CAC parts pack 1, under SW4 Empires! Thankfully Empires 4 DLC works with SW4.

What gives? Does the EU store skip most DLC for Warriors games or something? Why on Earth would they only include the extra costumes and horse mounts and not the DLC that actually includes extra gameplay?!

I've currently tried: the DLC option in-game, the DLC option in store, the Add-ons option in store and manually searching for the DLC.

A major part of Samurai Warriors 4 and 4-II DLC a small bit of, SW 4-Empires DLC and all of the SW Spirit of Sanada DLC was added to the EU PSN store without being linked back to the related game, which causes it to not be listed as add-ons under the games.

You can find all of them by using a relevant search term and directly searching for the DLC packs by partially matching their name. Luckily all the DLC repeats a commonly shared prefix.

• For SW 4, search for "samurai warriors 4"
  
• For SW 4-2, search for "sw4-ii"
  
• For SW 4-E, search for "sw4e"
  
• For Spirit of Sanada, search for "sw - spirit of sanada"

I have no idea whether the broken link between main game and DLC will have any impact on your ability to install the DLC once you've purchased it. If this link is broken it just might not show up under the game's library at all.

And yes; Tecmo Koei EU are a bunch of sloppy sloths for never bothering to fix these problems. And the irony is that it's mostly hurting themselves and themselves only. Players that don't track DLC release dates outside of the store, won't even know that the non-cosmetic DLC even exists. So it won't ever be purchased by them. Missed sales, all around.

I have SW4 on PS4 and it took a few days, but I managed to find and download the DLC that I wanted; very few of which were cosmetic, in fact the only cosmetic packs I downloaded that you CAN find under Add-ons was the horse pack.

The best way to find DLC for the SW4(that I'm aware of), is by searching for Add-ons in alphabetical order via the PC store and go to pages 301 and 302 for SW4 DLC.

As far as I'm aware, I can find all DLC via searching for SW4 Empires in the PC store under add-ons for the game.

As for SoS, I can't find any DLC anywhere, so I guess it's best to download this one on PC if you're from Europe.

I managed to get through to someone on Koei Techmo Europe and they said apparently no-one else has mentioned these issues.
