there is an item/object editor but you have to build/compile it yoruself from source code currently.
The game is free open-source software. Your purchase entitles you to an account on the official servers for the lifetime of the game (which to Jason, means his lifetime). You can download the code, build your own server, and play with friends for free. You can even modify code or build your own game with the tools Jason has provided and sell it for a profit; the mobile game is not affiliated with the PC game.
Simple graphics mods can be used on the official servers with no problem; a number of people use Awbz' mod, which allows for a larger field of view and gives you some helpful information (like how many fertile females are left in your line) in a text box.
And yes, there is an editor tool included; Jason uses it to make the game.
Jason doesn't believe in banning people from access to the servers; I don't think a single account has been deleted. Even serial griefers can stay, although there is the curse system and the ability to kill other players, so they tend to have short lives and wind up playing in exile (Donkey Town). Unless they're smart... and we do have some smart griefers. But they add some spice to the humdrum of village life. ;)
I have 10 year old kids in the house that take a great interest in your game, and while they understand that males and females have different parts, I was a bit perturbed to find out after installing the game that the character was not only buck naked, but with all the bits hanging out for them to comment on.
The post above mentioning that user experience customization is not the same thing as censorship, that's legit. I can respect your stance on censorship, but I would, for what it's worth, recommend painting a less broad stroke over it.
Personally I wouldn't let 10 year olds play any multiplayer game that had a chat system.
I'd be more worried about things people type/write to each other in the game than very small/non-sexual nudity.
Of course it is possible to run your own server and let them play on that isolated from others.
That's a fair statement, my kids don't play any games like this outside of my or my wife's supervision.
