Is Lilac really a water dragon?!

I get she’s a hybrid water “dragon” and not supposed to look like Merga BUT…
She has no passive or active abilities that shows she’s half water dragon in any of the water segments of the game.

She doesn’t swim faster in water (her speed in water is literally the same as the other girls), she doesn’t heal from her injuries in water, she CAN’T BREATHE in water or have a higher lung capacity in water allowing her to stay in the water longer than the other girls.

With the evidence I’m seeing, it leaves me to believe that Lilac ISN’T a water dragon, cause she simply doesn’t have any basic abilities a water dragon or ANY aquatic creature has within water.

For the plot to have a huge story of Lilac being one of the last “water dragons”, you’d think her story in this game would focus on her water dragon abilities and such, but SHE HAS NOTHING!

I can’t even consider her as a Otter, with the lack of water like abilities she DON’T even have.

This isn’t a attack on the game or anything like that. Just me pointing out my findings on Lilac being a supposed “Hybrid Water Dragon”

She’s a hybrid lemur or monkey at best.

FYI, I love the game, just stating that.

I love the game too, and I was just telling someone else about this in the reviews. It would've been a nice touch if her having a higher lung capacity was added since she's not a full blooded water dragon like Merga.

Definitely a Lemur at best, though. I also noticed the actual artwork shows her tail looking more fluffy than scaly.

I honestly can't think of any dragons with fur. It's not a bash at the game, but just something that occured to me as well about her "Water Dragon" heritage.

I agree! If they want her to still look all cutesy like now that's fine and dandy, but they could at least have her look it a little more, or at least have a few attributes pertaining a water dragon

I can't think of any dragons out there that have a black nose and fur instead of scales, especially water types.

Asian furred dragons... they're a thing and have been part of chinese mythology for millenia.

Also, it's clear she's partly earth dragon (her body shape and horns) and water dragon (her color, and also visual similarity to other water dragons in the museum in Perusa. Keep in mind Merga is bio-engineered, so she's gonna look different). Plus, there's an item in the game which gives her water elemental damage.

Also, those things on Lilac's "ears" are actually a form of hearing aid, Lilac is partly deaf because of her hybrid nature. Under them her ears are fin-like, like Merga's.

i looked up asian furred water dragons, you're right on that, I shoulud've known from the old Mulan cartoon and chinese festivals but it looks like they still have scales, Lilac has a full on furry tail with no scales whatsoever. I've been using the elemental damage attack, but it does nothing to boost her breathing abilities underwater, she drowns just like the rest of them

I'm aware of her hearing aids, but I haven't heard much of it in any of the games canonically, just through lore and fan sites.

Being a hybrid water dragon still doesn't explain why she or astral has a black nose, Even Cordelia has a dragon snout and still passes off as Lilac's relative without the black nose.

Bio-engineered or not, Merga looks more like a water dragon than Lilac.

Her design and lack of water abilities (Besides elemental damage) is just questionable

Now that you mention it, she never did claim she was half earth dragon.

As far as I know and from reading around, knowing that she hatched from an egg, means that her mother was a water dragon, and she also wonders how she looked when you find the wax statues in Parusa, however she has mammal features, like the tail and nose, so her biological father is most likely a mammal.

It is verylikely that her water dragon features and capabilities are greatly diminished because her father is not even a dragon, the example being her needing the hearing aids since she is partially deaf due to genetical defects.

she is a half water dragon hybrid her other half is unknown as lilac was born with a genetic defect that renders her hard of hearing if not completely deaf. Her earpieces are hearing aids that account for this. as for her water dragon abilitys..well she is only a half water dragon the best she can do is hold her breath longer than other characters underwater

I may be completely off with this but I'm pretty sure Lilac takes longer to run out of air while under water, the meter always seemed to drain faster with the other three. This doesn't make her a better swimmer but it would be weird to have only one of the four playable character with decent swimming controls, so for balance/gamefeel that probably wasn't an option.

In the first game Lilac could breathe underwater for longer than the other characters, but I guess they changed that for this game huh?

Also its kind of weird for a character so focused on speed and to be of water element not to be able to swim at similar speeds.

Every dragon in the Lunar series, another classic. ;)

Though as you have all noted she is a hybrid, and there are plenty of other species with fur.
