It's kind of hard to imagine the thought process that led an extremely niche indie dev team to develop and pay for the expenses of an online-only game the entire premise of which doesn't even require an internet connection in order to work, but simple file sharing. What happened to the old mantra of iterating on a prototype, starting with a vertical slice? Is your vertical slice an entire AWS server farm? It seems to me that this game can be salvaged effortlessly. And perhaps that it wasn't marketed very well. I see no reason to pull the plug like that, considering it can be interpreted as a middle finger to the 10 people who DID buy it. The 10 people who gave you a chance in the first place.
Truth be told they are probably just trying to achiveve another succesful game. OTTG is a 4 people game, NyxQuest on Mobile is decently popular and Fancy Pants on mobile and consoles also is, but the latter is split by 3 companies, they saw the Level Maker genre and wanted to make their own, I get why they tought of it, and I hope they can get at least the story mode of the game afloat in some way

Are you gonna allow indie gamers to open private servers for the game? Ragnarok Online was resurrected by its fanbase, and most of the important updates came from fans. Let fans of the game still play it, maybe if they have to figure out how. Dropping the code on GitHub would be a great way to start.
I believe this game uses a engine that they for Fancy Pants as a base, they'd probably need a LOT of cleaning up to get it on a state where it doesn't leak anything related to the Xbox 360/PS3/Wii Dev Kits
What a darned shame. If you'd just used Steam Workshop, you wouldn't have had to pay a dime in server costs and the game could've existed here forever. :vsskull:
Looks like the game has been patched and now runs in local mode. It includes a number of playable levels and you can create and save your own locally.

lol AFTER they took it from the store?
They could've gotten more sales if they patched the game before removal. I was interested in playing the game but figured it was pointless to buy it. Seems I figured wrong.

On second thought, now they could even bring the game back to the store (assuming the company didn't dissolve or whatever)

I'd buy it if it came back.

Same tbh, I only held off on buying it because there was never any confirmation on if it'd get offline mode, the dev just said "We'll let you guys know!" then dipped.
Had they actually posted again in this thread to say it'd been patched I'd have grabbed it for full price in a heartbeat.

I don't have any inside info... so no idea about the store. I just know that the game works and shows a message saying that you are playing in local mode. So they must have added it, which is nice for all those people that purchased the game previously.

It's just unfortunate that the devs didn't announce they'd added that before the store removal. Quite a few of us had been asking for it and would've happily bought the game before the delisting if we knew it'd been added.
