Let me use the god profile I want
I EARNED the Set's favor skill, so let me use it when I want, dammit. This random god stuff is dumb.

If you really want me to switch between all the different gods constantly, make them all equally good.

I created a new save and **only** picked the one class I like and avoided the rest. Was worth it.
wish i had done that from the beginning

RNG in a rogue-lite, no one could have seen it coming

Smart. The sad thing is this is stopping me from trying out others, because if I don't like them I'll be stuck with them.

Well some of the god profiles (I'm looking at you cat lady) are way easier to get wins on than others I feel I would have missed out on allot of fun runs had I not been forced into some of weirder gods.

They are a bit unbalanced. Sekhmet, with her +HP/room explored is super-easy. Ammit with his crappy passive and super-crappy active is bad. And some of the starting weapon loadouts are good and others are bad. But they don't all have to be the same difficulty.

This is the same as it is with rogue legacy, where you get to choose from three knights with both bad and good attributes. It makes the game more varied. This is of course just my opinion.

That is different. The random classes were built into the mechanic of the characters having different traits. Here it is pointless and just an annoyance. As here, you'll just have to kill yourself until you get the class you want. Also forced variety is nit the same as regular variety.

It's exactly the same thing. The different traits are the different loadouts. You're contradicting yourself if you continue to pursue that this is any different

No. It is not the same thing at all.

The premise of Rogue Legacy is that when you die, you are passing the torch onto your descendents, who might inherit good traits or bad ones. It is inherently part of the premise of Rogue Legacy. The inheritance mechanic is inseperable from the game.

Nothing about the premise of Immortal Redneck has you inheriting aspects. The way you play doesn't affect what aspects are available next time. It is quite literally arbitrary, and it is unnecessarry, as other games like Ziggurat let you choose your class for your next run freely.

I feel like a debate regarding the nuances of Rogue Legacy's system is very pointless, because that game absolutely suffers the same end result as Immortal Redneck does: you just learn to completely ignore bad classes and if the choices are ONLY bad classes, you just kill yourself to save time. Early on, when you're still learning and don't know good classes from bad, you will just pick whatever class sounds good and make a go of it, but once you're past the learning phase and trying to be the most efficient you can be with your gained knowledge, there's just no way you're wasting the time with a useless class. Immediate suicide is the only sensible option at that point.

The excuse that "another game did it" really doesn't make much sense when that game didn't do it very well either.

Dont get your hopes up. I made a thread about this a few days ago and posted in the Roadmap thread and only got a reply from a dev saying "Well Rogue Legacy did it and you liked it!" They seem to be dead set on this stupid mechanic.

After you beat the last boss the game ALWAYS forces you to start as a Redneck resulting in a loop of endless same char if you want to grind the last pyramid for the upgrades.

I assume you mean that it persists after death as well? I beat the last boss and then went into Pyramid 1 and cleared it completely, after which I was able to pick gods again.
