release to try to sucker in some extra customers
I have no hope this game will be running very much longer.
IMHO the biggest issue this game suffered from early on was developers who were completely out of touch with their own game. It was crystal clear that while the devs may have had an understanding of the systems within the game, they had no clue how the game actually felt and played to an actual player. IE... they clearly were not running around as actual players to understand the pain points of the game, what needed to be fixed, etc.
I have no idea what Citadel Studios has been working on, but it isn't Legends of Aria. Communications from the team have almost completely stopped except for the community manager, Liz, who frankly has provided very little useful information about the current state or future of the game. It feels like Citadel is going to just milk the remaining handful of whales still clinging to their vast in-game properties for as long as they can.
"Oi dudes this if forked, we have no idea how to actually make a game like this work IRL..."
"Eeeh lets just continue talk big and pretend, do a few hours of pretend work on it each week and see how much alcohol money we can fleece out of the steam community.."
"yea that worked great on kickstarter and the pre steam EA pledges lol, surely there are still some people out there who dont know about our con"
"how about we tell em its a PVE game this time to get the all PVE players too, and then make a sort of subscription model?"
"yea good idea, and a cash shop lol"
"even if we only get one new victim each month, that a free bottle of vodka."
"yeah, lol, might aswell keep it going"
