Legends of Ultima (LoU)

We aim to be the *True Successor to Ultima Online*, with the Classic eras as our initial baseline, while forging ahead to craft a proper UO2, with the LoU Community and our collective vision as our guides.

Our team has grown significantly and we are actively building the UO Map, have released several UO Dungeons already, created several custom assets, and have the goal to be "UO Mapped" very soon!

LoU is non-profit, and we have no plans to implement cash shops, or become profitable. Our passion is to build and play the game that was never made, Ultima Online 2.

We are Heavily inspired by T2A/UO:R eras including the Skills and Towns you remember. Our Community directly influences our Feature Development, and we welcome all Play Styles.

PvP Notoriety and Faction play is intact and encouraged, Reds are welcomed, Guard zones match classic UO, and you will never see Trammel here.

I also bought yesterday LOA to join this server and wanted to capture the old magic of Ultima Online.

But actually i got disapointed because when i entered Britain i expected to see Britain but it just a random city with the name britain slapped onto it.

Then i visited Moonglow to check how it looks and again its just a few houses put together and the name Moonglow was slapped into it.

Am i missing something was this server not supposed to be the exact copy of Ultima Online map?

I also could not find the infamous britain bridge where all the pvp action took place in UO and i also could not find the britain cementary where all people starting to build their char.

The moongates are also not where they are supposed to be.

you cant legally fully copy a game 100% of its map skills and play... or you would be swallowing a whole copyright infrigement case...as RETAIL UO is still sold and played to this day via EA games. UO may be open sourced (runuo)... but not when you try to make it a new standalone game for profit... so the assest can only be lightly used ( skills, town names )

We may open an EU server, but it really depends on funding. If we have enough funding to cover our hardware costs for EU, we'll definitely do it AND link US East with EU via a giant portal or something.

Got a question for you folks, pardon me if it seems silly, but I'm not familiar with UO.
I kind of like the MMO genre, even though I never really found a perfect game; I still spent a lot of time on FF14 and Wurm. I'm not afraid of complexity and I actually really like theorycrafting (and crafting, actually).

- I think I read there was some kind of skill points limit, to force player specialization, which is excellent imho. But are people making alts, or do you have some way to forbid alt-making ? Specialization is pointless if every involved dude runs 2+ characters to bypass it. And I'm not playing an MMO to compete with people doing everything by themselves.

- Do you plan on a server reset, or opening a new server ? I'm always kind of intimidated by communities existing from months/years, since I'll basically always be worthless.
