When im making a totally diferent replay i dont mid at all, but for checking small changes its very anoying.
They don't like save scumming so to speak
If the Hosted Games shown us anything though it's that it's perfectly doable with the already available engine
I ended up dying to save my gryph in the 2nd last chapter, so i wanted to replay all my actions to that point and try another choice to see if i could progress
To do this i had to recall all the choices while a simple save feature would have allowed me to do this instantly...
This can get even worse if you have finished the game and just want to see diferent outcomes...
Really anoying
First, you need to go where they have the save data located.
1. On a Windows 7 machine, click on your Computer.
2. Then click the C drive (or whichever one is your main drive).
3. Click on Program Files(x86).
4. Click on the Steam folder.
5. Go to the Userdata folder. There will be a numbered folder in there, and click on that.
6. There will be a whole bunch of games, but the folders are numbered. The one numbered 594660 is the Runt of the Litter folder.
What you can do is when you are at a point in the game you want to save, Copy the folder in #6, and put it somewhere else.
Then, if you want to come back to that point, just replace it with the copy you just made. For this to work, though, you have to be out of the game at the time. So Copy/Paste/Replace, and then boot up Runt of the Litter, and it should be good to go.
Perfect! I just dont understand how this is not a game feature! Many thanks!
CoG has stated they want people to appreciate the multi-pathways, etc. Thing is, a person can only do this so often before getting frustrated.
That said, at least some games do have some kind of save feature. Tin Star and Zombie Exodus spring to mind.
If i want make a totally diferent replay then i would do that from begining with fresh diferent choices.
Thanks everyone who posted and tried to help!
By the way, you can even sort of mod the values from this folder as well.
1. Click on the number folder for the game.
2. Click on the folder labeled Remote
3. There will be at least three files there. For CoG games, you want the one with the name of the game and ends with 'state'...so for Runt of the Litter it would look like:
storePSruntofthelitterPSstate
4. With that file identified, open it up with something like Notepad, and you can play with some of the values. Depending on the game, though, it might end up breaking that play through...usually it doesn't but I know in the Guns of Infinity series, if your stats are too high it will glitch up.
Have you tried to Talk with the Wyrm Rider without dieing? How did you do it=?
