Changing key bindings froze the game onto my screen.

I loaded the game for the first time. Adjusting my visual settings seemed to work without a hitch, but then I went in to change my key bindings and tried to re-assign Sprinting to E and it sort of froze, but the menu audio was still playing and it wouldn't register a key press no matter what key (or mouse button) I pressed. I tried to cancel or close the keybinding window but there's no option to do so, so it just sat there waiting for me to press a key and not registering that I was pressing anything.
I tried to Windows + D to the desktop, and it brought up my taskbar, but the settings menu was still up on the screen. I tried opening task manager and end tasking the program, but the Task manager wouldn't show in front of the game. Also tried right clicking on the program in the taskbar and choosing close but that didn't work either. I couldn't get the game to close without restarting my whole system. I have dual monitors and everything else about my system was still working, (browser etc) but only if it would open on my second monitor. I couldn't even use the shortcut of Windows key + arrows to move Task manager to my second monitor, so anything that was preconfigured to open on my main screen would just open behind the locked game window.

This is the exact same experience for me after opening the game for the first time. If the devs can't get keybinds right there is no hope for the rest. Game state unplayable.
