Basement key and Garage key

I haven't touched the game since the demo and have forgotten where they were/are located?

The basement key is in the tv room (the room by the front door). The garage key has been moved. You have to pick up the note that is on the door to the garage (the door that is down a short flight of steps) that will tell you where the key is.
