Can't drop item with PS4 controller

I didn't get two minutes in before the game became unplayable because I picked up a cup from a shelf and now I 100% can't drop it. I have arthritis and can't play with the mouse, and I don't have an Xbox controller, but generally, when it says full controller support on the Steam page my PS4 controller works just fine. TRULY I pressed every single button, HELD DOWN every single button and combinations of buttons. Nothing. Can't even try to open the doors in the first hallway because I have a stupid cup in my hand. Help?

To drop the cup, you have to hold down (F) and click LMB or RMB. The instructions is right in front of you. The only bug I have noticed is where Items float in mid air. Other than that, I have not had any issues w/the game. I use mouse and keyboard so I am not familiar with controller support.

As I mentioned, my arthritis makes it very painful to play using the mouse and keyboard, so this does not provide any solution to my problem at all.

Then I don't know what to tell you but the game is not buggy and unplayable. I have invested 27 hours in Visage.
