That says it all. xD
There's nothing to read here but a monthly troll...
If yoy say PT is crap then you dont know nothing about horror games.
Of course darkness and Shadows are a great element, but how its used here its mostly cheap.
its often so dark, even when there is a lightsource near that you nearly cannot anything. and in the Basement, yeah i understand the intention, and i like it, but in reality, you can navigate in the darkness by using your hands for navigating around and not always running against black walls.
that the sanity level is rising, is not a bad idea, and games like Amnesia showed that its possible. But in Visage i thought, there would be more than just swiching the light off, and always open or close the doors. Its great for the first time playing, but after a time, and your second or third dead trugh the Girl, it not feels intense anymore, just annoying.
I Played Visage until all the light switches where broken, and then it never felt scary, for me just annoying like work.
and of course its great to tell a story trough the enviroment, but why can i open nearly every drawer, but never find anything interesting. The game have great ideas, but till now, its just a great idea.
Visage was, or lets say, is the hope for a good horror game in this year, but im not sure, the devs would change the cheaping way of trying to scare for the final game.
i really want to love Visage, my wife found it longer time ago, and always asked me about it. So we where happy, that we could play the early access.
I dont have a problem with difficult games, i love dark souls, but they need a good balance and fair gameplay mechanics that feels good. When i played Alien Isolation i was scared like never in a game before, and even at the highest difficulty it never felt unfair and not needed darkness everywhere.
I know, the philosophy of alien isolation is different, but with the Unreal PT i finally could try PT and think, PT had a much better scary athmosphere than Visage. Okay, we dont know what would come after pt.
I will wait for the final release and hope something special will happen to let me love this game.
I really want to
But... you should try Layers of fear if you want a really immersive narrative and story-telling! I really enjoyed that one because it was surprising at every step I did and very impressive. I know it has no gameplay at all, but for shure you will get a better experience than this "wanna be P.T."
(P.D: I love this game but the way that the controls are set up it´s a pain in the ass and makes it a lot less atmospheric that it should be).
