Ich hoffe das Spiel ist so gut wie die Reviews sagen, denn ich habe keine Lust auf ein Spiel wo die Meinungen von den Mitarbeitern selber geschrieben wurden. Denn sowas hatte ich früher mal
This game is more focused on psychological fear than constantly barraging the player with jump-scares although they are present in limited quanitites. Atmosphere and events are very well done and evocative, the sound design is excellent, and the story is equally as upsetting as it is haunting. I wouldn't necessarily call it the scariest game ever made but for me it was an unnerving experience delivered well.
I'd recommend that you try and read some of the positive reviews. The 90% rating comes from steam users, not developers trying to inflate their review aggregate.
It's not, $20 is way overpriced for this game, read my review, to summarize quick it's a $20 walking sim where you wander every inch of the house that you can find, searcing thousands of drawers, with not a single clue how to progress. you don't know if events just randomly trigger, and just supposed to wander around until something happens, or if you're really missing so you end up getting stuck.
The game is not scary by any means, and the sanity mechanic doesn't work.
If they were to release this now, with the content as is, and anything additional being paid DLC, its a $9.99-14.99 game right now. But with 3 more chapters, and additional content being added to the first chapter, I would give it a Buy at $20 easy.
There are still some areas that could use a little polish, some bugs, and some directional cue issues that could be fleshed out a bit. But this game is early access.
As Crescent said.
"Not a clue how to progress". - i will admit that a couple things were not apparent, but i will assume thats something that will be ironed out while in early access. But most of it was just fine...If he couldnt make it through...he might have missed some clues/hints/items. The house is also unlocked in a linear fasion. There are definantly clear defined "Phases" you go through as you progress in the game.
"Walking sim where you wander every inch of the house" - I find this as a feature. You can interact with tons of stuff that has no real need in the story. I hate games that have all these set pieces you cant touch/look at.
"You dont know if events just randomly trigger" A lot of events are just that....bulbs breaking/doorsclosing/lights flicking/items moving....a majority of the ambiance is just that. Random, that increases as your sanity meter fills up.
As for major in game events, they are a progresion. You wont have certain scripted events happen if you didnt trigger earlier ones.
"you end up getting stuck" - unfortunatly there are a couple instances that this can happen, where you are not truly stuck, but missing something like a key in a room somewhere might lead to backtracking. Like i said earlier....some of these directional issues will get fixed as it progresses through early access.
"This game is not scary by any means, and the sanity mechanic doesn't work." Completely subjective. I found these game plenty scary with both sound/ambiance.....and jump scares. They are both here, and its great.
If you’re looking for a full game I have been playing the conjuring house and it seems really good so far and definitely has some good jump scares. Yeah the voice acting can be pretty bad, but it is pretty unique.
And events don't happen randomly, the paranormal activity aren't scary, because even though you don't expect them, when they happen a big horn sound plays, like wtf? this kills the whole thing, they shouldn't point them out, this is what psychological horror means, the player has to imagine things or conditioned to feel scary.
If they just tell you, "watch a paranormal activity there!" how is it scary? and besides the sanity system not working, it's just a hassle to witness them.
You can use both hands to dual weld items but you can't use the seconded item only the primary hand. I find it annoying...
Sound is great but you can barely hear anything around you if your own footsteps sounds like your stomping on (some) types of floors...
Paranormal activity exist in game but why does it effect me if i don't see or hear them(not really that bad though)...
Also for a game in development for years why does actual game play feels clunky and intrusive for no reason considering you can store bs items like beer cans that's empty glasses and stuff.
Of course there are things that need to be ironed out. That's why the game is in EA. And that's why constructive criticism and praise is important.
