Easter egg after beating the game (spoilers)

I was surprised when I picked up the key after finishing the game and heard the Silent Hill pickup noise. More surprised when I got a note telling me to go to room "302". Then you find room 302 and open the door only to find yourself right inside Silent Hill 4's apartment.

I know it's just an easter egg because of what happens after that, but there's going to be a thousand theories about this game being linked to Silent Hill now. Probably one of my favorite easter eggs to date.

Maybe the house is in silent hill. They mentioned on their kick starter that if they got enough they would make it a whole town instead of just a house..... welcome to silent hill?

Also, the door at the start of the game is like that of Henry's apartment in SH4.

Yes, but only towards the end of the game. The key will appear in the sink in the upstairs bathroom.

and by end of the game, do you mean end of Lucy's chapter? or actual later in the game, like in the new chapters?

No, I believe you need to reach the end of the game (at which point you'll get the credits rolling). Although there seem to be 2 different endings. The key appeared for me after I got the darker alternative ending.

After that the safe key will be available.
