Why does the game go to my second screen and how to fix it?

I was having the exact same issue and it's only been with this particular game. Starts off in first monitor with a backdrop of the game then immediately moves over to the second monitor. When looking in settings it is set to launch in monitor 1 but it obviously isn't doing that. What I did to half-ass fix this problem is after the game is pushed to the second monitor hit Windows + Shift + (Left Arrow or Right Arrow) for whichever side your primary monitor is on and continue the game. It will look weird as if playing in window view at first but will eventually go to full screen as the game starts (iow after start menu). Not sure if this will work for you but it did for me. If you're still having trouble check out some of these fixes.

ps - also make sure that your preferred video settings are done while on the second monitor bc once it's up and running you will not be able to edit them after the game starts otherwise it will freeze and/or crash the game. It will however remember the settings that you made next time it's launched.
