possible to get get garage key chapter 2 ?

Started a new game chapter 2 and the basement is closed of where i get the garage key is it possible to get it ?

garage key is in the laundry room in the dryer, I got it before the basement was locked

if you go to the garage door there is a note that says your keys are in your pants. pants are in the dryer.

You have to pick up the note on the garage door first. Once you do that, when you go to the laundry room, you have to interact with the dryer. That should trigger a cutscene where you get the key.

The laundry room is down the hallway from the kitchen; it'll be on your right. (At the end of the hall, there should be a rocking chair blocking a door, if you haven't moved it already).
