UPDATE: WE NOW FULLY SUPPORT VALVE INDEX CONTROLLERS & WMR
***UPDATE -AS OF JUNE 2023 WE NOW FULLY SUPPORT VALVE INDEX CONTROLLERS & WMR***

OLD POST:
There have been inquires about Valve Index support, so we figured we would answer its current state here.

As of now, the headset works perfectly, but we don't officially support Valve Index controllers at the moment. The reasoning behind this is part technical and part resources. It's just the two of us and we would have to dedicate a lot of effort to make this happen...which would push back the release....which we don't want to do.

With that said the controllers do work, if you are will to put up with 2 minor issues.

-The controller thumbstick forces you to constantly run, instead of click to run. You can still move slowly...its just a bit more sensitive.

-Some users have said that the grabbing is a bit too sensitive, so they drop items more frequently than they would like. We have not personally had this issue, but your mileage may vary.

If you’re ok with those issues, then it will work fine. We are currently looking into a solid solution for them, but it will most likely be addressed post launch in an update.

I have both Index and CV1 connected to the same rig, and due to potential connection problems I never disable the Index. I can use Rift CV1 perfectly, but only if you support native Oculus drivers - so in short - do you support native Oculus drivers?

Also native Oculus drivers may provide much better performance, and 70% of SteamVR users have Oculus hmds...
