It's been years since it got pulled for purchase here in Australia and still nothing's been done, so there's a close to 0% chance of the Steam version ever being legally available again for us.
Over the course of 2-3 years I've done a good amount of research, read up on government and classification laws, have contacted Steam Support, asked over on Keybol's Discord server and even popped by the Tower Fortress Speedrunning Discord, and nothing.
Steam Support suggested contacting the developers/publishers as they didn't know what was going on, Keybol's Discord server is an abandoned wasteland and I got no information or response from there besides "contact steam support", and the Speedrunning Community weren't even aware this happened, which doesn't surprise me at all. Every stone I turned was just dirt. All dead ends. While I could've also contacted the publisher (being Nitrome), I just do not care anymore. 2 years was already enough time spent trying to solve this puzzle.
You can't even get it through key resellers (which I generally wouldn't recommend) or places like Humble Bundle anymore.
This also isn't the only instance where a game was made unavailable in Australia for no explainable reason either. I highly doubt this and Soda Drinker Pro are breaking some Australian Classification laws that Manhunt and Hotline Miami 2 did. My guess is developer/publisher negligence.
The game's been abandoned anyway, so what are the odds they just magically give a ♥♥♥♥, realize what happened and relist the game? At least the mobile port (and piracy) exists...
So much time and sanity has been wasted constantly thinking about this mystery and going on the biggest goose chase of my life with no resolution, so if the devs and Nitrome don't care anymore, why should I?
