it is very unbalanced, the difference in power from one creature to something only slightly bigger is way to much. unlike ark where a good pachy or raptor could take a direwolf or saber, a dire or saber could take a carno or allo, a good allo or a carno could take a rex or a yuty, basically here its impossible for small to be medium small creatures, impossible for meadium small to beat medium, etc. that bad game design.
I haven't taken mine to later biomes yet, so far managed to kill every creature exept obviously stronger ones (Brontos)
I've just thrown away everything I've learnt about dino hierarchy from OG Ark and assume everything that doesn't spawn in novice area will instantly kill me in PIXARK.
Dig deep holes, kite them in and KO them with sleep arrows, or kill themselves with wooden spikes seems like the best defense working for me around my base lol.
I don't hate that most things are different from OG Ark though, it keeps the game really fresh for me. I wouldn't have spent 8 hrs on it last night if it was all the same lmao.
I got a really good bone steel sword and it 2 shots them.
I agree it's ridiculous as in it doesn't make sense in the real world, but then this game has magic soooo...... yup just better to assume nothing makes sense :P
There's pros and cons to both styles of scaling. I understand wanting there to be at least some chance for a level 1 to beat a level 100, ARK has that and it makes for very interesting encounters and it works well there. But IMO, this style is better for a casual audience. This way you continually feel you are gaining power, even if you aren't getting any better at the game you are always getting more capable just by putting in the time. In the other style if you aren't very good at games, the better gear feels lackluster because you know if you encounter someone you're still very likely to die even if you outgear them haha.
but i think ppl expected an ark with other graphic, and not a "new" game with "known" items but with "new" mechanics ~
