And even then you might not get everything. After creating around 50 maps until i got one which i liked, i had to realize that there is even more which you cant even see on the map. Some biomes, maybe all of them, not sure, have sub biomes, where the spawn rates of the biome specific creatures is different. Then there are the dungeons, and things i may havent discovered yet.
That thing needs some serious overhaul. At least give us a preview of the map before we have to load into it...
Note that I said single player. Multi player maps do seem to be different, if the streams are any indication. They also got portals to warp around with, which single player doesn't. Regardless, logic still dictates that any map be made primarily of "normal" areas like grassland.
