@Topic, You may have to put a candle in the hat after it runs out, but mine was on when I first crafted it and put it on. I don't know for sure if it runs out or not. Nevermind, that was in the description for the wall candlestick and the candle light, not the helmet. :/

My helmet light was "on" when I crafted it, and it has been on non-stop for about 23 hours of game time so far. Not sure if it ever runs out.

the hat is always on it never runs out ive had mine on for 6 days time in game

mine didn't work either, had to remove the helmet skin and then it lit up immediately, like before I even closed the window.

Necro thread but i'll clarify something: If you use a helmet skin with the candle hat, it will override the candle effect, and as such will not work. Dont skin it.

yeah so i noticed ... can't put any helmet skin on when mining or at night
