Taming
I try to tame an animal and it won’t let me. I have the proper food and everything but it just says “Put taming food in the item slot to feed!”

for a pachy, put berry in the "0" slot, get close to the dino and when blue text pops up, hit "E"

Sorry, I should’ve explained better. The problem is, no matter what animal (Pachy, Phiomia, etc.) no blue text pops up. It only says “ Put taming food in the item slot to feed!”

Their slot or mine? Because I can’t access their slots at all.

You need to put a berry in the final slot of your hotbar (where it's labelled from 1-10 at the bottom of your screen for current equips) and feed the dinosaur that way.

I've narcoed a raptor. With it sleeping on the ground I approach and get that message to put food into its inventory. I've tried using raw meat (and ensured it was also in my slot 10). It doesn't work. Is it related to my level (21)? There is no message stating a level requirement.

I also don't see why they need the slot 10 rule. It just annoys the users.

If a creature is a passive tame, you can walk up to it and feed it from the 0 slot, such as a dodo with mejoberries. Hostile creatures you have to use sleep arrows to knock them out, access their inventory then put food in their inventory, such as a raptor needs meat. Also, you cannot knockout a passive tame and feed it, it won't accept food if its knocked out.

Use your scanner(No weapon equipped) and then right click and hold. Hover over the creature you wish to tame. If it is active, it's likely a knockout. If it is passive, it's a hand fed. Hand fed is food in slot 0 and go up to them and feed them.
I put the raptor to sleep and had raw meat in slot 0, hovering over the creature a message included to access its inventory and feed it. I accessed its inventory, however, I was unable to either choose and option to feed or to manually pass meat into its inventory slots.

just click on the meat in ur inventory and press "T"
I'll try that although I don't recall any advice in game for "T" other than whistling your tamed creatures.

"T" in ur inventory moves items in other inventories
Anyway, thanks - 'T' + meat worked fine.

I have mejoberrys in my final slot of my hotbar (playing ark for 4 years, ik how this works) but for some reason, when i press E, nothing happens. it gives me the prompt "press E to tame" and I press E, but it wont eat.
