Im often flying with Pter around and stored a Wolf in my Inventory. at the end of my Journey i put out the Wolf if i need it and can instantly ride and use it. After that its goind back in my inventory as a box and later in the Box Container. i only have like 5 Animals active outside at same time.
Login to an official server and literally you can start in a base with HUNDREDS OF TAMES.
People get major tame addiction. It is pretty nuts.
I agree with the rest of you. I never tamed what I did not want to use.
Options are very rarely a bad thing. The option to have more dinos out is not a bad thing, and is entirely reasonable to ask for. You may not use it, but others surely will.
So the Headlne "Tame limit is bad" only affects a small Playerbase. 90% will love this feature later on when performance will not affected by 1000 dinos
...Did you not read? Do you not know how?
BOTH posts, mine and another person's (not OP, that was my mistake), said that the option should exist for UNOFFICIAL, and for SINGLEPLAYER.
I'll reiterate it so you don't miss it again.
Options for tame limit increase/decrease for private, unofficial servers, and singleplayer.
I already did. The same reason we have things like rugs, candles, dyes, etc. Because it's fun to be able to customize your world and your game. Because it's fun to have decorations for your home. Because sometimes, a visual representation of your work and progress is more rewarding than a number.
The *option* to increase the amount does no harm, because people can *choose* to play on servers that have the option, or don't have the option. That's the beauty of having options, it gives you choices. This is for private and singleplayer only, NOT something that should be put onto official.
So let me ask you now, what reason do you have to not give players the option, if they are willing to deal with the drawbacks? Since no one is forcing you to play on any server, I'm very interested in knowing why me and my save having more dinos would effect you and your save having less dinos.
Clearly you've never had to experience Arks Max Server Tame limit being reached. Nothing could be tamed SERVER WIDE because the cap was reached... Yeah rather they avoid that whole nonsense.
Also the Tame LIMIT isn't a Tame LIMIT! It's an active limit. The rest are stored in your PIXContainer and as your base is attaked and you lose Tames the Container release them to keep the active count to the Maxium.
There is a downside. If a bronto destroy the box, you lose all your tames. They are gone. That's why my group want hte ability to up the number of tames on my private server.
There is no reason to limit on a private server. Official servers, fine .... but private servers should be able to up the limit.
All you need is a bronto to swing its tail and all your tames are GONE! It's not that hard to understand.
What I don't understand is why you have a problem with people upping a tame limit on server you have nothing to do with.
