Dirt back to green dirt
Is there any way to do that? Just like turn dirt into clay with water?

Only way is to use command to replace dirt blocks by grass,

If you are on local ,you can get grass block with command :
giveitemnum 913 100 0 0

This will give you 100 blocks.

If you are on a server, you need admin right in order to do so.

Should be a mechanic for doing it in game. Even something like a grass seed we could plant.

Have you tried a paint brush with green paint?
Doesn't it come back overtime?

no, once you destoy a grass block, i'ts gone forever.
I hope they can patch it so it regrows or add a recipe so we can create some grass without having to cheat.
That could be a good use for fertilizer on dirt for example :D

Indeed. There was actually a mechanic for this in Ark. I forget what it was called, but it was a varient of fertilizer that would restore anything in a small area to its natural state. Something like this could also be how players could restore blocks later on when things are getting scarce.

I noticed that a dirt block placed underwater gets grass. Like if irrigated, grass would regrow. So the mechanic is here, but apparently not working with rain.

Are you sure about that ? When i place a dirt block underwater, I get clay, not grass.
Somehow I'm not able to reproduce it, so... I'm not so sure anymore.
I did see it happen tho, was few patch ago and on a previous map, in some grassland pond. But it might be because the space where I placed was initially occupied by a dirt block I mined, so water was just above. I need to test it out.

That or.. I'm wrong and took my wishes for reality :bandit:

You might be right. I remember trying to find clay on my first day and a tribe mate insisted I only had to put dirt in water. But as much as I tried, all I got was dirt.

So there are probably other factors involved, or it changed in an update.

What is this, California? :P

That’s actually not a bad idea, if it works...

As anyone attempted to use Bone Dust or whatever it is called? The description says something about being a fertilizer, maybe it works like in Minecraft. I haven't tried it yet, but it could work.

Edit: Just attempted, it has no option to use it other than in a crop plot. It does provide a decent amount of fertillizer. 10 Bone Ash provided 54000 fertilizer.
