@ SG_Raytings Summoning Altar Question

I've made a few maps and opened them in SP creator mode. Found all the burial grounds and I don't have any summing alters. Lots of bone creatures and bosses, no altar.

Does this not work in SP mode? Do I need to play in LAN mode? I've also tried in regular SP mode.

I don't want to start out in SP if I need to be in LAN mode. I don't use any mods so that isn't causing an issue. In the update notes is says altars spawn in server mode only so I am worried I need to run LAN or just be SOL cause I don't play on servers.. :(

If the altar is not available in SP or LAN this is a HUGE oversight as there are quite a few of us that don't play on servers.

Anyone playing SP can verify if there is an altar? Have a feeling I am about to waste a lot of time in SP when I should be playing solo on my LAN. :(

I'm sure i read that it's not in single player, you should be fine in LAN.

Yeah I have tried several maps and used creator mode with no luck. I am playing LAN and my first spawn is right next to a burial ground. Just tamed a flyer so hopefully I can at least see one to make sure it works.

That is really a bad oversight to not offer this for SP. Basically if you are SP then you cannot create/tame a bone creature. :(

Well maybe there are other burial grounds in my world and the spawn only shows up on one? Playing LAN no altar in the burial grounds I am at. :(

Sadly haven't seen one yet. :( Worried LAN with one player maybe isn't working, I dunno.

Yes that is the platform! You are on SP not LAN or server? Your altar is in the ice? I was under the impression it spawned in the burial grounds only.

I play single player only, I wasnt actually searching for the portal I just ran into it and wondered what it was xD I havent actually seen any others though only that.

Hi! At the moment, the Summoning Altar is only available on Official Servers (similar to the Supply Drops). I'll make sure to let the devs know there are questions about this content not being available in SP.

Edit: Looks like Supply Drops are in SP (Good news for me since I play Singleplayer).

Summoning Altar shouldn't have been in SP but since it's there, the devs will go over the code to see what happened. Thanks for the reports!

Oh no so SP and LAN cannot tame bone creatures? :(

@ SG_Raytings why wasn't this allowed for single players or LAN players? I spent almost a day to get a map with a good amount of burial ground and now I found out it is useless since I cannot summon a creature to tame. :(

I'm playing single player and I have drops and alter it seems,not sure why that would even be disabled.

Yeah I have drops in SP so I just figured I would have an alter. I have yet to find one on my map. I guess they spawn at random locations. :/

the patch notes say they spawn in random location and change every 12 hours I went back to where my alter was and its gone, actually havent found another yet :s

They have a random chance to spawn anywhere and I'm finding them scattered all over my SP game. I wasn't even looking for them; had simply loaded the map in SP the day Skyward came out so I could check out all the new biomes. Simply explore your map and you'll eventually start seeing them.

And remember, a watched pot never boils, so just focus on other stuff and it'll happen quicker than you think. I was simply circling the border of my map and suddenly after never seeing any before got nearly a dozen clustered in one of the map corners on various islands.
