Float Gallery

some thoughts
First of all, I like the space, the rooms, with the sockets and the doors.. it was immersive.
The "in-game" menu and the main entrance room menu are simple and minimal, but both work fine.
Then the art. I think there should be more. Maybe this is just the start and there's much more to come? But for the moment, there's not much to see. I like some works, some not, this is normal, it's like that in a real gallery as well. Still, I would say I disliked more than I liked. Some of the art seems no longer relevant in these times, and especially when presented in VR. For example the video painting "I don't need a canvas, I can draw around me". The audience of this experience is a VR audience, they can play with Tilt Brush and Medium and Quill everyday if they want to, so they won't be impressed. The floating triangles are very low res and I can't help but think that a bit of a more realistic approach with textures or light-modeling would have been better. The landscape of mountains looks like something went wrong and you see so much cooler stuff in VR these days. I liked the floating "erotic" work because you can teleport/walk underneath it, something that's not done that much in VR experiences. I liked the animated paintings with sound that started when you approach them.
Anyway, I started the VR Museum of Fine Art right after tyring this and although I normally prefer contemporary art, it's a nicer experience to wander around that virtual gallery. Maybe because it's larger with heigher ceilings? Or the background ambient noise? Or the fact that there's a lot more to see? Or the general quality of the art renderings?
Still, it's not a bad start and I can only hope you'll continue to improve the experience and add more content. Looking forward to it.
Thanks.
