Why So Many Clicks to Get an Item?
I hope they fixed this in Cat Quest II and III, but to get an item from the shop, you press once to choose the chest, a second time to confirm with the seller, a third time to confirm to the game, a fourth time to open, and a fifth time to go close the item's window. It's even worse when you consider that, you can't only press one button to do that, you must press two buttons, mixing between one another.

You need to press E to pick which chest you want to open (first click), then you need to press left mouse button to confirm with the trader (second click), then you need to move the mouse button to the happy cat face and press left mouse button again to confirm with the game (third click), then you can press E or left mouse button to open the chest and reveal the item (fourth click), and, finally, you need to press left mouse button to close the item window (fifth click).

Dude... I'm spending 5000 gold opening 50 cost chests, this is 100 chests to open and repeating this process... This is stupid, why so many steps, and why switching buttons, why can't simply be three clicks, one to pick the chest, one to confirm, and one to close the item window, and why can't it be a single button to do the process?

If you say "to stop auto-clicker", guess what? It won't, because we can define the buttons we'll use on an auto-clicker, the order, and the time between pressing, so I can use an auto-clicker to do all that anyways, this is just bad design.

I actually don't even bother buying anything from the shop. You get everything for free through the chests ingame. Maxing out all equipements happens automatically anyway.

So what you are actually doing is a waste of time anyway. Just my 2 cents.

^ Same as above ^

What do you mean? Don't we need to get more copies of the items to level them up? Items goes up to level 99, this means a lot of copies, probably, and the chests are limited, shouldn't we suppose to be open all chests, and then buy from the trader to reach 99?

You have been answered already twice on that: multiple playthroughs.

So... I could buy multiple chests from the trader OR repeat the whole playthrough to achieve the same goal? It seems trader is the answer.

Yepe. I was right, buying chests from traders DEFINITELY is better than replay the whole game. I'm level 54, wearing a Skull Helmet 85 (+89 Def, +127 Atk), a Slashy Scarf 90 (+93 all), and the Willpower.

To get it fast buying from the shop is better, true. But if you are really needing to bother about the shop in any way, you seem to be in bad need of it, and that means you are doing something wrong.

You get multiple level ups with one chest, especially the golden ones you unlock after the second half. So you get automaticall a level 35 helmet to 47 with only opening one chest, by just playing the game.

As there are items you can only gain through multiple playthroughs, don't even bother with low tier requipement. You will get them automatically over time to 99.

But do whatever pleases you, we just mentioned that shopping is badly overestimated in this game. So whatever you are asking for (the devs?) is not really a thing for most players at all.

No, no. I just want to do 100% of the game, this also means to have all items at level 99.

Then you actually have to play the game through about 100 times ;)

Like I said, there are some special items you can only gain once per playthrough, to level them up one level after the other. If you ignore those items or plan to play it through just once, yes, then you are doing it right.

most people don't play through a lot so just open your 50 gold chests to level up some items. The game doesn't have the variety or experience to play through multiple times, just isn't enough to it. Just don't waste gold on the 5000 gold chests they are worthless.

So play how you like, 99% of the players won't be any grinders doing the game many times just to level up some gear they don't need since they already beat the game.

In cat quest 2, you don't randomly level up items you can pick and choose which items you want to level up, both weapons and armor so no silly random chests in the weapon/armor shop.

@EolSunder - there is nothing different in CQ2 than in CQ1, most equipment are just a different "skin" while stats are exactly the same. They added those "perks" and that is all to make them a bit more different than each other, but in the end the rare equipment will make forget of any other one, as before. And Dark won't be more happy with it as they now caps at Lv.999 (yes, more play it again for you).

I, for one, agree with you.

As much as I liked this cute game, the UX kind of sucks. Too many buttons used, too many presses needed, and the mouse is required for confirmation, except that's the only time it is required.

And you can't even remap controls (you can in Cat Quest II, but for some reason not all of them).

It's as if developers took the worst (too many steps to do simple things) instead of the best (only two main and two secondary buttons, no cursor) from NES role-playing games.
