Max Out Everything
I haven’t beaten the game yet, but when I do, I think what I want to do is max out everything for a full completion - meaning player level, all spells, all armors, etc. Can anyone point me in the right direction for tips/suggestions/etc. to accomplish this future goal of mine? Thanks!

That sucks. I’m only at level 200 from savescumming (started at around 105) and it seems like I can already tell the levels I’m gaining per completion slowing down. If what I’m noticing is true, this is going to be awful getting to the max level.

This first entry was not very well balanced on this aspect, to level up one needs always more XP than before -.- The second game is better on this matter (still with savescumming), and from comments on the third one, looks like it become the opposite way (no grind) : D

There is no real need to reach Lv.999 immediately, still there are many sets to collect in the regular way and you will get some XP in doing that also : ) Leave Lv.999 for the very last.

I will be giving up grinding at level 500. I think that’s as much as I can take. There was absolutely no balancing to make grinding to level 999 a feasible goal to achieve. Every single Mew run the gap to the next level keeps getting bigger and bigger and if I wanted to reach 999 (which I still wish I could) it would take forever.

Anyway, I do plan on getting all the gear to level 99. With regards to the Kitmas, Old Master, and F/C/W set, are these the only 3 sets that can’t be grinded from opening chests in Kit’s shop?

They should, I don't remember much anymore of those two chests, but the good point is that are curated. It means that you will always get a missing piece until you got all of those in the given chest, then they will return to be completely random. So, the first time you will see that you get a piece you already maxed out, it means you can move to the other chest.

I preferred to do every quest and loot every chest until they maxed out naturally, took about six complete runs but it was the time I most enjoyed : D

I finally went through the obnoxious chest grind of endlessly opening big and small chests until I maxed everything out and found out there are indeed 4 sets that do not appear in Kit’s purchasable chests:

Old Master set (helm, armor, Ragnarok)
Faith, Courage, Willpower set
Crappy set (helmet, armor, weapon)
Kitmas set (Grrratitude, Hope, Family)

Wait… I’m on my first NG+ playthrough and it looks like the FCW set levels up one level per playthrough. Please tell me that isn’t true :).

Man I really hope they fixed these balancing issues that I’ve come across in 2 and 3. There’s no feasible way in 1 to grind to level 999 or get level 99 in the FCW set which is a real shame.

Oh, the Crappy set, thanks for confirming it : )

It is pretty common anyway and the Lv.0 cave (entrance is a bush) is filled with it. As you will go for the Kimtas set, you should be able to farm it too.

And yes, FCW is ONE level per run ^^' It goes better with the second game anyway : )

https://youtu.be/-_2c_Ji7w8g - found this video of someone reaching level 999 on CQ1 on the Switch. I have absolutely no idea how they reached this level nor how they’re obtaining XP so fast. I wonder if the Switch version is somehow more balanced with XP? I truly have no idea.

I know you haven’t played CQ2 or 3 but do you know if reaching level 999 is feasible in either of those games?

I have no idea if they changed something, for sure I wanted the Japanese translation to be checked again and then applied to the Steam version too, wonder if they ever made it : /

From the few scenes I checked in that video looks like they kept farming the most profitable monsters over and over, less likely they hacked the save or were able to savescum as on PC.

If you want to try it you should be already strong enough to slay those dragons in seconds : )

About CQ2 I have it on Epic and it is much better at maxing out everything including your character(s). Still there are few items that require to make several runs before to max them at Lv.999 them too : O But it is much less boring and faster than CQ1 ; )

CQ3 yes, I don't own it (yet?) but from reading comments in the forum looks like many went up to Lv.999 and maxed everything with ease. To the point that the game felt dull and short for many, but it still has no Mew Game mode (that will probably be patched in later).

I accepted your friend request and sent you a private message already, did you miss it? : )

Edit: after checking the same Delta Ruins on the Steam version, those dragons nets far less than in that video, about 30%, so for sure something has been changed on Switch : /
