[COMPLETED] Yes, it is 100+ times!
Original question :
- Well, it is just an estimation I did but do I really need to play it more than 100 times in order to bring everything to max level? Or am I terribly wrong here?

... some time and many edits later (including title) ...

Mew Game
  • Furry Armored modifier ( 1 time )
  • Old Master Armor ( 10~17 times )
  • Ragnarok ( 7~10 times )
  • Old Master Helm ( 5~7 times )
"It is nothing personal, Drakoth. Developers just don't like you so they sent me. Now, be a good cat and DIE for the 29th time!"
- White Cats Eradicator

New Game / New Game +
  • Faith, Courage, Willpower ( 99 times )
"Forgive me, Drakoth. When I realized were no need to kill you every time, it was already the sixth one."
- White Cats Eradicator, The Greedy

Added stats
Equipment that you can get ONCE per game :

Kitmas set
  • Grrratitude (Lv.99 / s+155, h+0, a+0, m+155)
  • Hope (Lv.99 / s+155, h+155, a+0, m+0)
  • Family (Lv.99 / s+155, h+0, a+155, m+0)
Complete Kitmas quest, once in your first play through and then three more times in New Game + (doesn't need to be a full play through).

Old Master set
  • Old Master Helm (Lv.99 / s+775, h+0, a+775, m+775)
  • Old Master Armor (Lv.99 / s+775, h+0, a+775, m+775)
  • Ragnarok (Lv.99 / s+775, h+0, a+775, m+775)
Complete Mew Game (must be a full play through) over and over as stated above.

Note: as suggested by Kelrycor (comments #3 and #15), it is possible to exploit save system and max out the set much faster (while getting juicy XP and Gold too).

F,C,W set
  • Faith (Lv.99 / s+0, h+0, a+0, m+2349)
  • Courage (Lv.99 / s+0, h+2349, a+0, m+0)
  • Willpower (Lv.99 / s+0, h+0, a+2349, m+0)
Continuously re-play New Game + (doesn't need to be a full play through) over and over and over and over and over as stated above.

Conclusions
Well, I was not so much distant from the truth, while this game doesn't require to be played completely more than 100 times, it needs to be started at least more than 100 times, and it takes anyway a lots of time.

In between boring and useless things I ever did, this will ranks high for long, very long. But now my Lv.339 Dragonblood, equipped with Lv.99 Faith, Lv.99 Old Master Armor and Lv.99 Willpower, displays 19837 HP, 15 MP, 775 shields, 5441 attack power, 5441 magic power and carry a wallet with 2,189,057 Gold pieces. About magics, Flamepurr does 10,377 DMG, Freezepaw 10,065 DMG, Astropaw 17,955 DMG, Cattrap 5,168 DMG, Purrserk +140% DMG, Lightnyan 15,506 DMG and Healing Paw +195 HP -.-

Note to developers
You have lost a player, because you underestimated both balancing the post end game stuffs and listening to players feedback.

Just a quick suggestion because I understand what you are saying about high # of repeat. I do not, however, share your final note (but I lack direct knowledge of pre-nerf Faith/Willpower/Courage).

An option to auto-skip dialog and cutscene would drasticaly reduce the time required... but do nothing for the number of repeat gameplay.

Such an option could be either automatic (but toggled on/off at will) on any New Game+ and Mew Game... or just toggled on/off at will.

It could probably cut a faith/courage/willpower to roughly 10 minutes.

P.S.: Like I said in the other thread, very nice job presenting the data :)

Thank you : ) I was thinking exactly the same while harvesting those equipment, it was going much better with a Skip Dialogue options of some sort -.- An option into settings, an extra dialogue from Spirry in the very beginning where to choose Yes or No (Let's haste?), cutscenes with dialogues only completely skippable (like the one in the red tree), mixed cutscenes with just the action part and so on. Good luck with the new episode ; )

By the way, I started to play Cat Quest post-nerf me too, so I don't know at all how it changed : / I just suppose stats at level one were dropped while leaving stats at level 99 still the same. Don't know if New Game+ was a new feature, but if it was added later, then even levelling up of FCW set most likely changed completely.

Level caps at 999. A naked cat has 14146446 HP, 1683065 melee, 1683065 magic.
You do around 1.2 million damage with melee and 3.2 million damage with flamepurr.

You can savescum the Old Master set quickely (so you only need to play the game 3 times in pro mode to max it, each repetition afterwards costs you less than 1 minute). Along with it you get a massive XP boost for the normal game savefile. Unfortunetaly it does not work on the FCW set, you really have to collect it 99 times (extremely boring).

Thankfully : D Thanks for the heads up, those are terrific stats ; )

Thanks for this post! I really wanted to play this but such useless grindy achievments put me off hard. If you need to play a game more then 3 times without added challenges, thats a big NONO
kaki_gamet Jan 15, 2020 @ 10:55pm
If you mind about Steam Achievements only it is not that hard, but if you like to max your stuffs then yes, it won't be a walk in the park ^^'
serebix Jan 16, 2020 @ 12:45am
Okay, so how many playthroughs would it take to 100% it? At least 4, right?
Kelrycor Jan 16, 2020 @ 12:54am
Yes, 1 normal game, 3 pro games with different challenges.

As far as I know you can unlock all Steam achievements with these 4 runs.

At least five times ; )
  1. in Normal mode
  2. using Furry Armored
  3. using one modifier other than Furry Armored
  4. using two modifiers other than Furry Armored
  5. using three modifiers other than Furry Armored
As you do 3rd, 4th and 5th be sure to use all the remaining modifiers, order is up to you (you can leave Furry Armored for last and even go back to your Normal save later to clear what is left) : )

Ah, because you don't own it yet, you have to know that first play through (Normal mode) may be the longest but will be your training ground. After you beat the game, New Game + and Mew Game will become available.

New Game + will return you to the beginning with whatever you already got (overwrite your save data obviously) so you can keep grinding for equipment and your own levels.

Mew Game will open a parallel play through (with its own save data) that will put you back at the beginning (with just your bare pawns) and challenge your skills, but you don't need to do everything, just to clear the main story quest and get your reward (that will be added to your Normal mode save). Mew Game save data will disappear after you complete the run.

Oh, yes indeed. Furry Armored does negate that you get the Old Master equipment. 5 times then :)

Wow, thank you so much for this summery. Now I can have this back on the wishlist without a doubt left :)

"you have lost a player" homie if you played the game enough to max everything then i think they got plenty of play out of you
kaki_gamet Dec 7, 2021 @ 6:12am
Still can do more, Lv.999 looks the limit : D But as you can see, I never bought CQ2 although never say never and Xmas is just around the corner, the moment when I feel most likely to play cute stuffs : D

I don't know if you can do that on Steam Deck. If you can find and access the savefile for the Pro mode, you can do it.

What you basically do is to play a Pro game in which you get also an Old Master item for it and extra difficult for extra XP. Backup your savefile before final boss, or better before the very end. Concluding the run will gain you the Old Master item and an extreme XP boost. Both will be stored automatically in the normal game run, not in the Pro mode, that's the trick. Just restore your Pro savefile again, reload and conclude the game once again (which can be done in less than one minute). Rince and repeat as often as you want to gain super stats and Old Master gear quickly.
