Controller not working

Tried 2 (Xbox one wireless) controllers, both wireless and wired and still no luck, using 2 different cables.

Set even a thing on Steam Setting "General controller something". Nothing ...

Any help?

I am using an Xbox 360 wireless controller. To get it to work, I had to go the Steam Setting, Controller, then check both "Xbox Configuration Support" and "Generic Gamepad Configuration Support".

This is one of those games that really needs to be played with a gamepad to get the best experience. But making changes to steam controller setting to get it to work messes up other games I have (ie Elite Dangerous with my HOTAS), so I have to be mindful of the changes I have made.

Checking both "Xbox Configuration Support" and "Generic Gamepad Configuration Support" solved it for me. Unchecking everything didn't. Checking only Xbox didn't either.

Just gave up and bought it for Switch

Nothing I can do will get this game to work with a controller. Cat Quest II works with my controller immediately. I've tried Xbox controller, PS4, and a Steam Controller. No luck.

Not only does the controller not work, the mapped keys on the keyboard don't even fully work. Going into the inventory, none of the number keys actually navigate as they are apparently supposed to.

Well this is a great disappointment.
