Is money used for anything other than equipment and leveling spells?

I've been doing a lot of side-quests and haven't killed the dragon in the water yet, but I have around 11,000 gold. Is there any reason to save money or is it better to just spend it on spells? I don't really need gear as I did a lot of exploring after getting the water walking ability and I have some pretty strong gear right now.

never bought any gear, they're random anyway, just level some spells.

Yeah I found out they were random right after helping Kit in the beginning. I just used all my money upgrading my spells, so it looks like I'll just get them maxed and then go roll equipment, though I'm not sure why I would ever need to since the gear I'm finding is incredibly good.

On that note, why does the Lonely Cave have the gold chest icon above it even though I already got the gold chest? I walked all around the island and there wasn't any hidden paths that I could find, so is this a bug or am I missing something here? I killed all the enemies inside (at level 40 no less) so I know that's not it.

Guess I need to search a bit better then. I could have sworn I walked all the way around it, but I'll go back and do another walk around.

the guide says there's only one golden chest in the lonely cave.

There is a hidden path, on the left after you enter and while going up, but hide a small box only. Try to get it too and see if the mark will disappear.

Yeah it was the tiny box. I don't know how I missed that as I started on the left wall, but maybe I didn't make a full revolution around the area. It's good now. Thanks for the input.

Fun game. I beat it already and hit level 101 before the final boss. I don't really intend to play through the game five more times (or less) just for achievements, but since the second game is out, I might look into that one.

Won't be a complete play through, in Mew Game you need to complete the main story only (and the new armour set is amazing) ; )
