MEW GAME / OLD MASTER SET COMPLETION
Hello guys, I'm currently on the 4th run of Cat Quest on Mew Game and would like to discuss what are your strategies to get the last set piece (Helmet)

I'm trying to beat it with Naked Run + 9 Lives + Stronger Enemies mewdifier.

You guys who got the last piece, is the said mewdifiers the best option combination? Any tips on advancing/leveling specifics for this run?

And how long took you to beat the game this way?

In our dev's humble opinion:
Level One + 9 Lives + Stronger Enemies

Well, I'm trying to get that as well.
But I agree with the devs, you would benefit more form taking Level One instead of Naked Cat.
Equipment gives much more stats than leveling up. Unless you power farm, wich is hard to do, since you don't have equipment.

Took me 3 hrs 9 min for naked, 9 lives, stronger enemies. I could have beaten it sooner but I overleveled a bit. I had 2 deaths, both from gold mimics cause I got greedy :(.

Spent over 10 hours on like 10-13 different tries using LV1 at first and ended up ragequitting due to some choice one shots. I got pretty far on my last run and even managed to get Faith before the fourth dragon (so I could go magic based and not risk getting one shot as much as melee), but got completely wrecked in that arena by the skull guys.

TL;DR Naked is by far easier than LV1 if you like taking risks or cant dodge well/perfectly.

Just got the Old Master set.

I agree with the developers. Level 1+9 lives+Stronger Enemies is a bit easier than going in naked. Took me about 3 hours and 20 minutes. I ended having only 1 life by the final boss. O_o I'm risky player though, so hopefully you shouldn't end up in my predictament.

Your best bet is to get the Pirate treasure at the start of the game, and head on down to Founder's cave. Most of the 3 hour playthrough will be spent farming the chests, so grab some good music. Once you have around 10000, go ahead and fully upgrade your ice ability. This will make things a lot less stressful when chopping away at the chests. I spent 200000+ before I got an armor set I felt comfortable with. For spells, I maxed out ice, fire, traps, and Purrserk. Traps are awesome when combined with ice for bosses!

TLDR: Become a farmer on founder's island, get rich, booby trap your enemies.

Thanks for the input guys!

I'm currently trying to get it with Naked + 9 Lives + Stronger Enemies because my last run was with Lvl 1 + 9 Lives and my early game was really messy and I almost didn't make it (no stronger enemies, mind you). Also Naked is the last one I haven't done yet, so why not?!

Equipment grants a great boost for Attacl/Magic/Armor but I found that there's a deficit on HP bonuses (yes, even Courage isn't enough compared to the HP levels sum up) so even with great equip a small mistake will cost you a life, so maybe a bit of grinding can make things easier

Since magic doesn't scale much with levels I'm using only Firepurr(?), Ice and Purrserk, and the damage has been really nice so far, but still have a long way to go

I was trying to clear it with Level 1 + Naked + Stronger and got stuck on the 2nd dragon (the ice one on the lake) ._.
Guess I'll start over...

I think is virtually impossible. Even if there's a lot of patience and dodge the dps output would be easily overwhelmed by some mobs healing. You would hit for 5 minutes just for the mob to heal everything in one second.

Would be an incredible feat tho, and congrats for arriving at the second dragon!

Yeah it is VERY doable with Stronger, 9 Lives and Level 1. You can even get the legendary set (Faith, Courage and Willpower) rather early. All you need is a strong Freeze spell. Lure the enemies away from the chest and freeze them. Then run to the chest and open it before they get to it :)

My choice was also Level 1 + 9 Lives + Stronger Enemies, finished it in 1h 2min.
Only thing left now is beating it just naked which I think is much harder, I find it very slow in progression and cant really find a way to speed it up.

I have a question, why are ya'll doing all the meowdifiers together. For time? Or is it the only way to get something? I have done the naked one. Then I did the stronger enemies and did not get anything at the end is the reason I ask?

Naked+9 Lives+Tougher Enemies. It’s really easy to level up fast just killing.
1) Do the intro part until you get water walking.
2) Run around grab free coins and exp bubbles. Buy Freeze, Purrserk, and Trap.
3) Level up easy mode by killing Fish to start. Then move to the red dragon by Deep forest. Level up Freeze with the coins you gather. Within 20-30min you should be at the point you can take out golden mimics easy. The purple dragon is also easy by this point but you need the coins to level up spells focusing on Freeze > Fire = Purrserk > Trap.
4) Once you have spells maxed you should be able to farm the frost dragon in the water just north of the ghost isles. The exp from this dragon will take you up several levels each kill.

My best run was just under 3 hours play time, but I do have a tendency to put down the iPad and walking away without pausing.

Ditto.
I used naked + 9 lives + tougher enemies, because you can essentially infinitely level up.
I spent just under 3 hours to beat it, heres some stuff I did.
- To get exp I farmed some fish, but mostly the cow skulls with orbs on their head are everywhere in the west, and give great xp, you should be able to take them on between level 15-30.
- To get gold to pretty much max out Fire, Freeze and Purrserk, I farmed the Founder's island cave after level 40 to do it a lot quicker
- I was level 70 or 75 by the time entering the void, but I also felt like I was at least 15 levels higher than I needed to be.

Also make sure to combo fire and purrserk, the damage stack makes farming/fighting enemies faster, just make sure you manage your mana/magic meter to have at least 1 freeze so you can land more hits for more mana.

If you beat the game with 1 meowdifier, you get the old masters body armor, if you do 2 at once, you get the sword, and 3 at once gives the helmet. This is a set of items that are very powerful and can only be obtained this way ingame.

Thank you that clears that up for me!

+1. WFC is just too good not to use. You can finish the run within 30-40 minutes, depending on how long you it takes you to get the golden key. The strategy is as follows:

1. Get Freeze Magic (other magics may help, but this one is mandatory)
2. Build-up a decent ATK stat by collecting random coins on map to buy normal chests, or going to high-level caves just to open chests.
3. Get the golden key. This will be a bit of a grind, depending on how high you were able to build up your ATK stat. Just make sure you don't forget to use Freeze magic.
4. Get Willpower. It's easy.
5. Get Faith. No need to kill the Ice Dragon, just wait for a chance to get near the golden chest and spam open.
6. Get Courage. You need to kill the two golden mimics, but not the mini-boss. You can just lure it away from the golden chest, freeze it, and make a run for the golden chest.
7. Proceed with the main quests.

Add another +1 to these modifiers, though I did it a little differently. Immediately go for the Pirate Treasure and grab Freeze on the way, go get the golden key (patience is the name of the game, lure one chest at a time), then go back and get Willpower (easy to do). Got Courage second, again lure the chests away and make sure you've begun to level up Freeze. Then went for Faith and avoided everything, lure the Ice Dragon away from the chest. After that, main quest. Took me just over an hour, because I was dumb and died from lack of patience.
