The rate for rare ooblets?

I'm curious about something. From what I've understood, the 'rare' (sparkly) ooblets are supposed to be very hard to have spawn (think shiny rates for Pokemon). I've only played for a little over 12 hours on Steam and I've already had two sparkly ooblets spawn in Badgetown.

Were the rates increased for the Steam release or were people just blowing their rarity out of proportion? Or have the RNG gods finally smiled upon me for once in my miserable life?

I have less than 5 and somehow have 2 gleamies of the same ooblet.

Oh, it’s absolutely a higher rate than in Pokémon. If I had to give a rough estimate based on my experience, any Ooblet who shows up on a day has a 1/100 to 1/300 chance to be GLEAMY. And there are ways to make it even easier!

While it would still take quite a lot of time and dedication, it should be significantly easier to collect every GLEAMY Ooblet than to collect that many Shiny Pokémon in any game.

Each wild Ooblet spawn has something like a 1/200 or 1/400 chance to be gleamy. The exact numbers haven't been determined. But with a bunch of spawns every in-game day, you can often get a gleamy once a week or so.

I had gleamy ooblets spawn on one of my first few ingame days (didn't have the material to dance battle them yet). I'm personally glad that the rates are at least higher than in Pokemon, it would have been rough with a rate over 1/1000.

Usually gleamy ooblets spawn when its sparkly rain during the day.

Their is a way to force this happen. First, U need to save before sleep. Then, load the save and when to sleep, the ooblets of next morning will show the list. If it not have gleamy ooblets. Just force the game to close and do the loop again. I use this method and have 20 gleamy ooblets in my farm.

If there are gleamies you can't catch that day, they only rejiggle if you go to bed.

One day I stayed up all night. I spent most of the day selling curlyhorns and candy, then fishing for speedygrow to make some heaters and afford a pickaxe. Then I trekked all the way up a mountain and ate lots Bunglebee Buns and smashed rocks, before rollerskating all the way back down the mountain to have a dance off.

It's also worth checking out the Frunbuns clubhouse, the special holiday island and staying up past bedtime in the graveyard.
