Bugs & Such
Hi,

thank you for making this interesting puzzle game.

Sadly I found a few bugs and anti-features or missing features:

  • Feature: The game should support each input method (keyboard and mouse) fully.
Clicking with the mouse on the next tile to change the direction after hitting a stone / bush inside the garden. Moving the player character around the garden with the keyboard
  • Missing Feature: Undo.
  • Bug: Hovering over the stairs of the building in the background selects some southern stone tiles.
  • Feature: Cancel a command before it is executed. You cannot stop the monk from walking around the field to a miss-clicked command.
Very bad in combination without undo.
  • Feature: Show tutorials on the level select screen. Either as additional levels or as an icon on levels which start with a tutorial.

  • Bug: Resource consumption. Why does this game eat 1 GB in memory (during a level) and hard disk & download size? I think < 50 MB (ram & hdd) would be enough.
  • Bug: System slowdown. The game is slowing down my system after a few minutes of continued playing (I have to alt-tab to something different to literally cool down the laptop). It happens to few other unity games so it might be not just your fault.
  • Bug: Loading times. The loading time of the game and each is too long.

  • Bug: The shadow of the left tree hides a part of the garden in the last level.
  • Bug: Except for the last garden, the camera is generally too zoomed out. The garden takes only a quarter of the game window.

  • Feature: Ghost monks: Instead of a hinting system, can you add "ghost monks" as an option? Those ghosts can preform the command including all possible sub actions (like turning left & right when hitting a stone) with increasing opacity when the mouse is hovering over a tile.
  • Feature: Other monks: Makes the game feel alive. Other monks could hint for future moves. Either by standing on suggested tiles longer than average or literally pointing from that tile.
  • Feature: Change the environment. The background does not change (as far as I can remember). Maybe some day & night or year cycles make the levels more distinct.
  • Feature: For increased replay-ability maybe add sub goals (longest path at least ??? long, shortest path at most ??? long, at most ??? paths, ...) ...
  • ... or randomly generated levels ...
  • ... or daily challenges ...
  • ... or workshop ...
  • ... or a level set for multiple player character support like Portal 2.

  • Feature: The "game finished" or "game lost" animation starts too early (directly after inputting the final command). I want to see the gardener sitting down on the bench or walking back inside clearly (without blur).
  • Feature: Instead of breaking the immersion with a game over screen, maybe a rain shower and or storm could wash / blow away all paths and the player character moves back to the starting position.
  • Feature: The game select screen could be more immersive too.

Except those things I liked to play this game.

Edit: Language & Reordered. PM me if there are more.
