How to get the duck/goose to do his thing

So I'm supposed to go to the scrap yard. Funnily enough the duck/goose showed the way back to the golf course and stopped. I really dont know where to go now. Is it possible to make it so he still shows the way?

In theory, if you head into the wilderness area (Go North out of the Caravan Park) and buy the mud tyres, he should continue showing you the way.

If you've already done that and it doesn't work, the way to the Scrapyard is north along the west side of the map, through the wheat field, then to north west corner

Should just be a map honestly. Like i mentioned before, some kind of "inventory screen" would do wonders.

Came here because of the exact same issue. I'd also second the inventory screen suggestion and a map (perhaps areas unlock once you've discovered them?).
