What does that mean for achievement progress on this since I can't choose my hero?

You could've waited to link your account ingame after the tutorial.
Most other achievements trigger when you do things for the first time at least,
e.g. beating Chapter 25-3 gets you all Adventure Achievements.
PvP Achievements aren't triggered retroactively. I'm at PvP Level 16 but not a single one of those achievements has triggered after a couple of Arena Battles.
(Same on my Phone with the Google Play Achievements, haven't got any of the higher PvP Levels despite being at Level 16 just because Google play was inactive for a while)
For research... well, if it's anything like Google play that's gonna trigger as soon as you finish any research too. Also being part of a guild doesn't trigger the achievement for it.
Which is lovely during a Rumble when you can't leave and rejoin your Guild to just trigger it.
Overall they're gonna have to work a little more on the Synching of Achievements overall.
It should work pretty much the same way as with with your phone is what I'm saying basically.

Press the red Kong logo in game. Do the tutorial first before you do though. I can't even seem to log out of the account even by trying to make a fresh one. I'm sure there will be a fix for it eventually I just jumped the gun a bit.

You can link and unlink your accounts within your Kongregate profile at {LINK REMOVED}Kongregate.com (within your account settings). Hopefully this will help resolve any link problems, but if you have issues, our support team would be happy to help troubleshoot.

I sent a request about this, but considering the times I'm guessing I won't hear back until after the weekend.
When I first loaded up it asked me which save to use. I checked on the forums here to see what people were saying about achievements and decided to use a new save and then load my Kongregate save later. Got through the tutorial and figured now would be a good time to load up my real save, except I can't now.
Clicking the Kongregate button does nothing. I tried unlinking, loading the game, clicking the button and then using the "Link Account " button that appears on the page. That linked them, and the game reloaded, but it loaded the same save, not the Kongregate one. Thankfully it didn't overwrite my Kong save, but still don't know what to do.

It should be as simple as having a log out button in the games code. Surely its not too hard a task and then everyone can have their problem solved.

Sadly same as before. Once it was linked it went back to the Fox logo, reloaded, but it was still the save that Steam uses. Not sure why it won't switch over to the other account.
